Weekend Happenings and Such

The weekend is here and so is warm weather finally!  Georgia has such a moody weather pattern its hard to know exactly how to dress when your stepping out.  I find its always good to take a light jean jacket or a cardigan with you should the weather decide to get cool.   This weekend my sister and I will be attending a Yard and Craft Sale! We love doing these little events because its such an amazing way to network with other vendors and crafters.   I love seeing how creative people set their booths and tables up and all their wonderful crafts.

It is also Cinco de Mayo celebrating weekend. So I look forward to enjoying the weather and maybe bbq-ing this weekend as well. I'm really excited to pick up a little patio set I bought for our backyard.

Aside from looking foward to the weekend, we are still promoting  our Mothers Day Sale at R&R's Wrist Candy!  Take 20% off all purchases over $8 by using code: MOMMA20 at checkout. Offer is good until 5/11/2014.  Your mom will really appreciate R&R's Wrist Candy handmade originals.

Next Top Chef?...one day

My sister Reisha  (co-creator of R&R's Wrist Candy =) ) loves to cook. Ever since she went to college and had her own apartment she's really come along way. We especially love sharing recipes and cooking together. Even though she can be kind of bossy sometimes ;-)  So I've moved in with my boyfriend recently and have really taken on the full domestication role. Don't get me wrong I was pretty domesticated before the move in being that I am a mother after all lol. But now I really cook a majority of the week and I'm always on Pinterest trying to find new recipes  to switch things up a bit. I make a pasta dish just about every week so this week I thought I'd change it up and make it with chicken.   I started off by frying red and green peppers and onions with butter in a frying pan on medium high. Now I'm no cooking expert so I don't have the measurements or amount of anything I used. lol =) sorry. I'll get better with time  Anyways I chopped up boneless chicken into bit size pieces and added them to the frying pan and continued to  cook until the meat browned and became fully cooked.  While I cooked up the chicken I had my spaghetti sauce going and the penne noodles.  I used  canned sauce by Ragu and added a small can of spaghetti sauce, garlic powder, onion salt, pepper and adobo.  When my mom uses spaghetti sauce from the jar or can she also adds in sugar to sweeten it a bit. I love it that way so I added sugar as well. When every thing was all done I topped my pasta off with parmesan and so be it...dinner was created! And it was delicious =)

Here are a few pictures from the process lol.... I know pasta is such a delicate procedure so try to follow along ;-)

Monday, Monday

Hello Peeps!

It’s dreaded Monday againnn, but I find if you try not to think about it that much then it’s not as bad as it seems. Anyways it was a little busy and stressful this weekend. Our mom was sick in the hospital with a stomach ulcer. Thank goodness, that was all that was wrong and she got to come home last night. Therefore, you have to count your blessings. While we helped her, we did manage to create and ship off some orders.  I really wanted to see the new movie out called The Purge but didn’t get a chance to yet. I did go downtown Saturday night with a few friends to enjoy some music and drinks. So that was a nice little stress reliever.

This week we will be on the grind creating new pieces and working on promoting and advertising. The trouble we’ve found with our online shop is that its hard to get constant traffic coming to your page and thus generating more sales. We have a couple of ideas in mind though so stay tuned for that. Father’s day is coming did you finish shopping….or start?( lol) Well if not hurry in to our shop and check out our “Man Candy “Section. We have many chic and sophisticated styles for dad or hubby. Here are a few examples. If you get your order in today or tomorrow your item should arrive before Father’s Day this weekend so don’t miss out!

Hope everyone enjoys their week ♥

Who are the R 's ?

We wanted to dedicate a blog or two to tell you more about who we are exactly. I’ll Start!

I make up one of the “R”s in R&R’s Wrist Candy and my name is Rachelle. I am 29 years old and I am the older sister.

I have a 1 and ½ year old daughter named Arielle

                                                  and a boyfriend named Frank

I graduated from the University of CT in 2006 as a psych major and I currently live in GA working 8 to 5 as an Accounts Payable Clerk. It is not the most exciting job in the world but if you are like most of us these days, paying the bills is necessary. I am a Leo( but not in a bad way) lol. Meaning I am not the flashy , bossy demanding type of Leo. I am more of the quiet, humble and strong headed kind.

I have a extreme passion for leopard print. Leopard is the new Black. It will never really go out of style. I’m not so far gone that I have leopard car seats or anything ....but I would say about 75% of my possessions are leopard print.

My obsession for accessories started with earrings. I just could not leave a store without buying a pair of earrings. To me no outfit is fully complete without them. In fact, I cannot stand leaving the house period with out my earrings on. My sister and I have always been crafty children. From paper dolls to embroidery floss bracelets, you name it, we’ve tried to make it when we were kids. We have still continued to experiment with all kinds of crafts as we got older. We are both small framed women and so our wrist are pretty small. It is always frustrating going to the store and seeing a great bracelet or bangle, trying it on, only for it to slide down your entire arm. Not cute and not what it is intended for I’m sure. So my sister and I thought we’d take our skills to the beads. Beaded Stretch Bracelets are for just about everyone. They are really fashionable and will never go out of style. There are so many things and design options you can do with these type of beads and we try to stay on top and beyond them all. I personally love the beaded beads because it allows me to put my since of style in each one I create.

We like to focus on creating pieces that are not only gorgeous but will suite different taste. We started selling our bracelets on line this past July and it has really been a great experience to share with my sister. We are really enjoying the feedback we are receiving and are looking into many different jewelry ideas to come up with next along with our bracelets!

Learn about the other half of R&R's in our next post soon to come =)
